OUR CEDAR STRIPS & GUNWALES
Cove & bead cedar strips are the building blocks of fair-hulled boat construction. We mill strips one at a time by hand, measure by the thousandths of an inch with extremely tight tolerances, from several different species in several different sizes. We can supply full-length Western Red Cedar Strips, and Alaskan Yellow Cedar up to 18'!
We mill the finest vertical grain, cove and bead strips available. Generally, a 16' tandem canoe, smaller rowboat or single 17' kayak uses about 1200 LF of 1/4" x 3/4" material. Some kayaks designs require a larger percentage of 1/4" x 1/2" strips because of tight radii in the hull configurations.
Strip Information
